Finally that time has come, and as you may have guessed by the new banner that adorns the top of our website, we’re now very proud and more than a little excited to be working with none other than British Airways, one of (if not the) biggest airlines in the entire world!

Now, you might well ask yourself: “What role would a comedy podcast have on an aircraft?” Well, you’ll no doubt be relieved to hear that we’re nowhere near the controls, and instead, we’re doing what we do best: making the funny, and entertaining passengers as part of BA’s in-flight entertainment.

We’ve put together a set of special podcasts as part of the “Pick Of The Comedy Podcasts” compiled by Pixiu Productions, representing the best in British comedy podcasts, alongside such shows as Comedy Central’s “Utter Shambles” and Mitch Benn’s Musical Podcast.

As of Monday 1st August 2011, you can now hear The Absolute Peach on all BA long-haul flights, so if you’re taking a trip with BA soon, listen out for us!

Fans have been asking for this for quite some time so we’re very happy to finally get it off the ground. Don’t be shy – send us something and we’ll talk about it on the show.

From then on we will release a show per week on a Friday as normal. In addition to this, we’ll also be running live shows every fortnight on Sundays, starting Sunday 6th June at 8PM BST (British Summer Time)!

Many people have also enquired as to the whereabouts of Joe of late (aside from those who attended The Absolute Meet, who met him in all his glory, stay tuned for photos and videos of that event!). Well, if you’re a Joe fan you’ll be pleased to hear that he along with along with Beasley and Michael will be joining Ben for Series 6!

The Absolute Meet

More exciting news! The Absolute Meet is now less than a month away! Joe, Beasley and Ben will be in attendence, and we are holding it in a pub in Leicester Square, London (we have a couple of options which will be confirmed soon, but it will be in Leicester Square regardless) at 6pm. Every TAP fan is invited so please let us know if you would like to come either by visiting our Facebook Event page on your computer or iPhone/iPod Touch and RSVP as soon as possible.

And then, a little further down the line, we ‘upgraded’ ourselves. By that I mean we moved into my garage. We set up a brand spanking new microphone (yep, we shared one between two) and got ourselves a proper desk. Huddled together for warmth, we continued to hone our craft, week in, week out, gradually building a studio around us, piece by piece, for our little radio show.

Today, as I sit in the luxurious warmth of my spare room (arrogant?), surrounded by microphones and whizzy equipment, a crate of Brain Toniq and and a boxful of things that will rot my teeth and stomach, I pick up my iPhone and do a quick search on the App Store.

To my delight I am greeted with our fully approved, brand new iPhone App: “The Absolute App!” And so here I am, writing a blog post to let you all know, and to tell you to go and grab it from TheAbsoluteApp.com! After all, it’s completely free!

Oh, and one final note, for TAP listeners new and old. Despite all the changes the show has been through over the years, the one constant through it all, and the thing that’ll never change, is the simple fact that, as you all know, we’re still just a couple of Cretmeisters.

As Series 5 draws to a close and we take our first steps into 2010, it’s time to get energised and start kicking into gear for the new series. As always, we’re going to take a short break to get our heads together and make sure Series 6 kicks off with a bang. Fear not, however, as it won’t be long (we’re talking a matter of weeks) and we’ll be back in full force.

Now would be a great time to go back through the archives and re-listen to your favourites. Or if you’ve exhausted the back-catalogue for now, why not join TAPAS and get your hands on all the bonus content available in there?
